We are lucky to have some determined and hard-working cross country runners at ACPS. They ran their hearts out today against some tough competition at the Eastern Metropolitan cross country, with all of them finishing in the top 20.
To celebrate Education Week’s theme of “Active Learners: Move, Make, Motivate”, we held a STEAM afternoon with a variety of activities for students and their parents/carers to complete around the school.
Congratulations to all our students who competed in the Templestowe District cross country competition at Ruffey Lake Park yesterday.
It was very pleasing to see the fantastic turn-out at our Mother’s Day breakfast BBQ this morning.
Thank you to the Community Bank Warrandyte who have granted $20,000 to Andersons Creek Primary School to help us build a new dry river bed playspace.
Although the weather forecast threatened rain, we were blessed with warm temperatures and sunny skies for our school cross country this afternoon.
This morning our school came together to honour and remember the sacrifices made by our service men and women during wars, conflicts and peace keeping operations.
The last day of term 1 was also our Hot Cross Bun day. We partnered with Biddick’s Bakery and got in to the Easter spirit by serving our students either traditional fruit or chocolate (or both!) buns at recess time.
On Friday, Aisling (5/6SC) competed in the Eastern Metropolitan Region swimming championships held at Aquanation in Ringwood.
While the cancellation of Saturday’s events at the Warrandyte Festival was disappointing, our students were still determined to show us their colours and were encouraged to wear their Festival parade outfits to school on Tuesday.
Over the last four weeks, our grade 5 and 6 students have been fortunate enough to take part in the Phoenix Soar program, aimed to equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to recognise, regulate and speak openly about their emotions.
This week the Foundation students started their Alphabet Books. We will continue to focus on the letter sounds for all letters of the alphabet, but we also revisit each letter for a week and spend more time on the correct letter formation for both the upper and lowercase letters.
